Last week was filled with impactful events on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, where our Executive Director, Kristina Yarmolich, together with our Board Members, Daniel Kammen and Mikkel Vestergaard, took part in several high-level gatherings.
Announcing our Commitment at the Clinton Global Initiative
HNP was honored to be announced as an official Commitment Maker at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). Kristina was recognized for our pledge Enhancing Dignity and Opportunities for Slum Residents on stage. By 2026, our new community center in Kibera will expand clean water, sanitation, solar energy, digital training, education, and financial services to 70,000 residents.

We also attended the Gates Foundation’s Goalkeepers 2025 event on ending preventable child deaths, and Daughters for Earth sessions on conservation and protecting our planet, while contributing to working groups at CGI.

We are grateful for the leadership of our Board Members. Daniel Kammen contributed to high-level working groups at the Clinton Global Initiative. We also celebrate Mikkel Vestergaard, who presented his groundbreaking enterprise, Sceye, at the Explorer’s Club. Sceye is pioneering high-altitude platform systems to monitor and combat climate change.
